Forced Abortion
Can Someone Force Me to Get an Abortion?
REPRODUCTIVE COERCION IS ILLEGAL
Forcing a woman to have an abortion, including a minor, is illegal in all 50 states of the United States of America. If a parent, boyfriend or friend is pressuring you, coercing you or trying to make you get an abortion, text or call us today. If you feel immediately threatened, you can call 911 for help. The law recognizes you as the unborn baby’s mother, even if you are under 18, and only you have the right to decide to have the baby or get an abortion.
SPEAK OUT AGAINST FORCED ABORTION
Studies are showing that 24% of post-abortive women said they did not want the abortion. You are not alone! You have the right to support, not force, as you face an already difficult situation.
WARNING SIGNS OF FORCED ABORTION
Warning signs of forced or coerced abortion are:
- Physical Harm: choking, kicking, slapping, shoving
- Aggressive Actions: slamming doors, throwing things at you, erractic driving, rage texting
- Telling you that you do not have a choice in the situation.
- Removing you from your support system or threatening or begging you not to tell anyone you’re pregnant.
- Threats: to kick you out of your home, to reduce or withdraw money, to leave you, to take your car away.
- Verbal attacks- “You couldn’t even take care of a kitten! How can you take care of a baby?”
- Name calling, accusations or insults- “You’re such an idiot to let this happen!” “I’ll kill myself if you keep this baby.” “Think about me and stop being selfish only thinking about yourself.” “This baby will ruin our lives.”
- Making the abortion appointment without your consent: “I scheduled an appointment and you are going.”
